5,4,3,2,1, JUMP!

Our yearly trip to Lake Utica, an attractive yet amazingly large lake near Arnold, always excites us as much as our trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Our favorite attraction, an impressive rock jutting out from the surface of the clear lake, is at the most 12 feet tall. I always feel confident to do it, but when I finish "hiking" to the top, my legs instantly turn to rubber. But I always manage to hurl myself off before I run back down.
The other half of our group is a large family that lives nearby. We always paddle our kayaks and canoes to one of the many small uninhabited islands in the lake. For the rest of the day, we talk and eat and play in the sand, and kayak to other islands to jump off certain rocks or to swim. The island is quite round, and so we often swim or kayak around it, but this time, my papa brought his stand up paddle-board, and everyone was swarming around it.
When the sun has gotten low in the sky, most of the wee children are asleep as we kayak back and drive away. Our final destination is huge parking lot where we order pizza and giant growlers of beer for the dads. We eat and talk and play and mainly us kids pretend we are flower queens and pick enormous bunches of flowers. Afterwards, we part ways and drive sleepily home to our warm beds.

LAKE CHABOT, WHERE THE MOUNTAIN LIONS ROAM!

On the 7th and 8th of April 2018, my family went on a vacation to a camping spot we all know and love. Anthony Chabot is a beautiful eucalyptus forest encased by gorgeous rolling green hills. We call the campground: Lake Chabot, because there is a amazing green lake that laps the land below the campground. Yet, the lake is diagnosed with a sort of lethal allergy that prohibits swimming. Too bad, you might be thinking. But, its not that bad. There is hikes that loop about the campground, and being close to Tilden Little Farm, we went there and hiked a majestic hike called Sylvan Trail, (we suffered much gobs of mud from the rain) that led us to an stony overlook that covered all of San Francisco, the Golden Gate, and more! Now, you might know what to do when you see a mountain lion sashaying across your path in he wilderness. You make yourself as loud and big as possible (even if it includes taking your shirt off) and throwing items at it until it runs away. This probably won...

Beach Bums #2

For those of you who have watched Despicable Me 3, then you know the part when Lucy and her daughters get into the car and Lucy screeches: "Mother daughter bonding time! Woo woo!" Well, this is what we did last weekend. It was such a surprise when my mom asked me if I wanted go on a trip together, just me and her. I said yes! that would be awesome! We decided on  where we would go (Sunset Beach) what we would do (go to the Boardwalk, go rollerskating, go to the beach, go to the bookstore, and get bagels at the Bagelry!) On the way, my mom and I listened to a consecutive series of audios called Passport 2 Purity. A couple who narrate it talk about things like dating, growing up, and which friends you should choose, and other stuff like that! It was very influential and it gave me a lot to think about. Well, I shall describe the things we did together. First, when we got to camp, we set up camp, ate lunch, and then went to the Santa Cruz Bookstore and the boardwalk....

Craft Extravaganza!!!

Every year around early October the Modesto Library hosts an amazing craft fair with over 50 kids every year selling homemade crafts. We tried hard to do it last year, but time crept up and ran out very fast. So that was unfortunately unsuccessful. But this year, we started creating about August and kept it up until October 14th, 2017, the date of the Craft Fair. Our friends decided to do it too, and created lots of crafts each, and so did we. I created my shop--" The Hobo's Lair", and weaved potholders galore (the most unpopular too) and themed bookmarks galore (those sold fast but in slow amounts of time) and recycled t-shirt bags, (which sold like hotcakes!) My sister sold Thwaps in the "Thwap Shop", a copyrighted-(don't tell!) creature from the Wingfeather Sagas by Andrew Peterson. They are pom-pom creatures with google eyes and paper/plastic/wooden/fabric and more accessories. They sold, " Like moldy hotcakes!" she later announced, bu...
