Lady with Brawn!

On a sultry Wednesday in June, we planned to go to White Pines Lake. For those of you who do not know where or what that is, it is a GORGEOUS lake in the middle of Calaveras County. My best friend's family came plus another family who was camping nearby. After everything was said and done, we whipped out the kayaks and goggles and sunscreen and started to make the most of our day at the lake. Me and my bestie rowed around the lake pretending we were lovely maidens proving our braveness in return for the hand in marriage of a young man whom we loved. We sang songs and recited poetry to each other, but the thing we noticed most was people asking us where we got our kayaks. We got them at Walmart, of course! One adorable detail to our lake day was a mother duck, with a train of ducklings swirling along behind her.
One of the things that always stands out at White Pines Lake is the ROPE SWING! When we all got to the lake, one of the first things we did was take turns with the three kayaks rowing over to the rope swing. After everyone was on the other side of the lake, we were fully disappointed. The rope swing was caught up in a branch, in a tall pine. No one at the lake could possibly ever reach the swing up there. But fortunately, my best friend and I were skipping along the path when we glanced at another tree, this one very close to the water, and you can imagine the surprise on our faces when we saw what was hanging on the tree! Yep, you guessed it! A rope swing! We skittered back along the path and rowed like mad Indians back to the opposite side, to tell the great news. Soon everyone we invited was swarming like bees at the new rope swing.
Another fun thing we enjoyed was playing a game called " Lady with Brawn"! That was an easy game that was played using yourself and a kayak. I tipped the kayak precariously to one side with one of my legs, and put my hand on my hip, like I was a Hollywood glamour shot queen. Then I purposely tipped the kayak so I fell off into the dark water with a fake screech. The name, "Lady With Brawn" meant , a strong and capable lady. So we did the opposite to make it funner.
Then our family and my best friend's family decided to go out to dinner together. And so, we met up again after packing lake stuff (and dressing in something other than swimsuits) at the Giant Burger, a burger place that was established next to the lake. Afterwards, we pulled into a 1-stop market and the adults purchased Slurpees and ice cream bars for everyone. Lastly, we parted ways and drove home. The perfect end to a perfect day!

LAKE CHABOT, WHERE THE MOUNTAIN LIONS ROAM!

On the 7th and 8th of April 2018, my family went on a vacation to a camping spot we all know and love. Anthony Chabot is a beautiful eucalyptus forest encased by gorgeous rolling green hills. We call the campground: Lake Chabot, because there is a amazing green lake that laps the land below the campground. Yet, the lake is diagnosed with a sort of lethal allergy that prohibits swimming. Too bad, you might be thinking. But, its not that bad. There is hikes that loop about the campground, and being close to Tilden Little Farm, we went there and hiked a majestic hike called Sylvan Trail, (we suffered much gobs of mud from the rain) that led us to an stony overlook that covered all of San Francisco, the Golden Gate, and more! Now, you might know what to do when you see a mountain lion sashaying across your path in he wilderness. You make yourself as loud and big as possible (even if it includes taking your shirt off) and throwing items at it until it runs away. This probably won...

Google Translate a Song In 5 Easy Steps!!!

Hi everybody! Today I'm back with a post about one of my latest favorite past-times: Translating popular theme songs, pop songs, and others through Google Translate several times. It may seem confusing, but once you get the hang of it, it's not that hard. I will be revealing the simple steps to creating your new song . .   First you have to remember you are using Google Translate, one of the most unreliable Google apps. When you want to say " Hey, how are you?" in a different language, you might as well be saying: " Hey, goldfish socks?" Usually Google Translate translates correctly. But not always. I have experienced this myself with using Swedish. So to prove Google Translate wrong, several people have taken a popular song (I did Stressed Out, by Twenty Øne Piløts) and translated it through several different languages, then back into English. The results are hideous! Not only can somebody not recognize the song, the lyrics are completely crazy! Fo...

Craft Extravaganza!!!

Every year around early October the Modesto Library hosts an amazing craft fair with over 50 kids every year selling homemade crafts. We tried hard to do it last year, but time crept up and ran out very fast. So that was unfortunately unsuccessful. But this year, we started creating about August and kept it up until October 14th, 2017, the date of the Craft Fair. Our friends decided to do it too, and created lots of crafts each, and so did we. I created my shop--" The Hobo's Lair", and weaved potholders galore (the most unpopular too) and themed bookmarks galore (those sold fast but in slow amounts of time) and recycled t-shirt bags, (which sold like hotcakes!) My sister sold Thwaps in the "Thwap Shop", a copyrighted-(don't tell!) creature from the Wingfeather Sagas by Andrew Peterson. They are pom-pom creatures with google eyes and paper/plastic/wooden/fabric and more accessories. They sold, " Like moldy hotcakes!" she later announced, bu...
