Happy Summer! It's Snowing!

When we arrived at the popular Fraser Flat, one of our near and dear campgrounds, it was cold. But I didn't expect what was coming in the future. On our trip, most of the adult's time was spent sitting by the fire. But some of us kids did too. But I have to admit, we did spend three fourths of our time biking, climbing trees, sitting in the hammock, walking, talking, and most of all having gobs of fun. But sometimes, all we wanted to do was sit by the campfire and listen to the grownups talk. There was only one sunny day, where shorts and T-shirts were necessary, and it had rained so hard on the other day that the fishing areas were filled with river water! In fact the river itself was high and terribly fast and frigid. So me and my brother dunked in the fishing areas and it was numbing! That night, surprisingly, was the coldest night. That same night, we decided to sleep in our cousin's trailer, for it was so cold we could not stand it in our little tent. So we gathered up all our blankets and pillows and made ourselves comfortable inside the toasty trailer. We played card games and drew pictures and colored in coloring books long past 8:00. We noticed that the sky was white outside, whiter than it should be at 9:00 at night. We thought it was just raining, until my Noni announced that it was raining quite hard outside. We all rushed to the window to get a better look. It wasn't raining, to our surprise, it was SNOWING! In our excitement and rush to get outside before it stopped snowing, we forgot jackets and hats. We made a ruckus trying to get out of the narrow trailer door. We played for rather a long time outside in the pouring snow, which looked like some one was having a bonfire in the sky and was dropping ash down on us. The chunks were literally this big! ⭕ Or bigger! All the adults went to work stripping the campsite bare and shoving stuff in our cars, as it began to snow harder and harder. Soon we began to feel sleepy and went inside and soon everyone had taken off their shoes and rain coats and jackets and extra layers and changed into pajamas and cuddled into bed. I left my flip-flops outside in the white world and in 2 minutes they were covered with a layer of slush. In the morning, we woke and peered outside to see what had happened. The camp had been transformed into Narnia, it looked! Then the sun began to peek through the cloudy air and melted the snow immediately. By the time we had packed up to leave (because of the cold), it looked as if it had never snowed. Of course, as always, we were sad to leave. But we knew we would come back again.

LAKE CHABOT, WHERE THE MOUNTAIN LIONS ROAM!

On the 7th and 8th of April 2018, my family went on a vacation to a camping spot we all know and love. Anthony Chabot is a beautiful eucalyptus forest encased by gorgeous rolling green hills. We call the campground: Lake Chabot, because there is a amazing green lake that laps the land below the campground. Yet, the lake is diagnosed with a sort of lethal allergy that prohibits swimming. Too bad, you might be thinking. But, its not that bad. There is hikes that loop about the campground, and being close to Tilden Little Farm, we went there and hiked a majestic hike called Sylvan Trail, (we suffered much gobs of mud from the rain) that led us to an stony overlook that covered all of San Francisco, the Golden Gate, and more! Now, you might know what to do when you see a mountain lion sashaying across your path in he wilderness. You make yourself as loud and big as possible (even if it includes taking your shirt off) and throwing items at it until it runs away. This probably won...
