Beach Bums #2

For those of you who have watched Despicable Me 3, then you know the part when Lucy and her daughters get into the car and Lucy screeches:
"Mother daughter bonding time! Woo woo!"
Well, this is what we did last weekend. It was such a surprise when my mom asked me if I wanted go on a trip together, just me and her. I said yes! that would be awesome! We decided on  where we would go (Sunset Beach) what we would do (go to the Boardwalk, go rollerskating, go to the beach, go to the bookstore, and get bagels at the Bagelry!) On the way, my mom and I listened to a consecutive series of audios called Passport 2 Purity. A couple who narrate it talk about things like dating, growing up, and which friends you should choose, and other stuff like that! It was very influential and it gave me a lot to think about.
Well, I shall describe the things we did together. First, when we got to camp, we set up camp, ate lunch, and then went to the Santa Cruz Bookstore and the boardwalk. I love bookstores because they are quiet and filled with books. (obviously) I just sat there and read and read for like 1 hour. Finally, my mom told me it was time to leave, but I could pick out one book to buy. So I picked out "Sisters" by Raina Telegemeir. But I also found a backpack pin in the shape of the book "The Hobbit". It was hard to choose, but I finally chose The Hobbit pin. I was very contented.
Believe me, on a Saturday, it's very hard to find a parking spot, so we parked and walked to the boardwalk. When we finally stepped into the line for the Giant Dipper, (my favorite ride at the Boardwalk) we waited, slowly moving up and up the line, until we boarded the train and slid down the dark tunnel that begins the ride with a round of hideous screams. Sadly, the ride only lasts for 1 minute, so when we got off, dizzy and happy, I immediately wanted to go again. But instead, we grabbed a potato swirl on a stick and headed out of the boardwalk. But the next day, after taking a walk on the beach and finding multiple intact sand-dollars, we hopped in the car and drove to the boardwalk again, and went on the Big Dipper again! Then we shared an ice cream cone and a giant pretzel, because the giant pretzel is my favorite thing to get at the Boardwalk. Afterwards, we headed to the Santa Cruz Roller Rink for our two hour roller-skating session. When we got back to the campsite, we sat and read Calvin and Hobbes. Then my mom sent me down to the beach to fetch her some drift wood for her embroidery floss.  Then we just went to bed because we were very tired. The next day, we went for a walk on the beach, and packed up our campsite. Then we hopped in the car and drove to a little Mexican market called La Rosa Bakery. There, we got freshies and then we just drove home. It was a camping trip I would always remember. (And it was gloriously fun too!)

LAKE CHABOT, WHERE THE MOUNTAIN LIONS ROAM!

On the 7th and 8th of April 2018, my family went on a vacation to a camping spot we all know and love. Anthony Chabot is a beautiful eucalyptus forest encased by gorgeous rolling green hills. We call the campground: Lake Chabot, because there is a amazing green lake that laps the land below the campground. Yet, the lake is diagnosed with a sort of lethal allergy that prohibits swimming. Too bad, you might be thinking. But, its not that bad. There is hikes that loop about the campground, and being close to Tilden Little Farm, we went there and hiked a majestic hike called Sylvan Trail, (we suffered much gobs of mud from the rain) that led us to an stony overlook that covered all of San Francisco, the Golden Gate, and more! Now, you might know what to do when you see a mountain lion sashaying across your path in he wilderness. You make yourself as loud and big as possible (even if it includes taking your shirt off) and throwing items at it until it runs away. This probably won...
